Goddess Saraswati is represented as a graceful woman in white, a symbol of purity and peace. She is the Goddess who signifies knowledge, leaning, arts and culture. She is seen as the serene Goddess wearin a crescent moon on her brow riding a swan or seated on a lotus flower. In order to pay allegiance to the Goddess of learning we celebrate Saraswati puja.
Saraswati Puja is celebrated throughout the country. The Goddess of the knowledge is revered among the students, they keep their books and offer sweets and do their prayers and never study on that day. The very day they wake up early in the morning and start learning with those books.
Also the very same day of puja on the evening we celebrate the Ayudha puja, we keep all our implements for worship. Tools of work is place for puja and then taken on the next day early morning along with the books. Even vehicles are washed and decorated, and puja performed for them on this occasion.
We have also celebrated both the Saraswati puja and Ayudha puja at our home by keeping our kids books, our laptop and vehicles key. I have prepared Suyyam and Fried Green Mung Bean for offering with some fruits and also decorated the Goddess with flowers.
