Sweet Corner, Chennai – Review

Sweet Corner, Chennai – Review

Last week I have been to Chennai for my cousin’s marriage and by that time we had a visit to sweet corner. My bestie who loves their Bhoondi Laddu to the core, he has many pleasant and sweet memories behind this Laddu. He told that he use to eat atleast a Laddu every day when he was there in Chennai for his P.G. Studies, since his hostel was near to the Sweet corner, it made him more comfortable. My hubby use to travel to Chennai often, but he stays in another corner of the city and he couldn’t make it. But this time since this trip was purely personal and we had time to relax by evening we made to the shop by evening and later had dinner at Buhari, which was very near to the sweet corner.

As the name the shop was at the corner of the road, parking is too difficult at this place due to heavy traffic. But since we went around 8, we had space for parking. The shop was very small, neat and clean with exotic fragrance of ghee. We found too many varieties of sweets but the only thing I focused once I entered the shop was this “BHOONDI LADDU” for my bestie.

Every time we would travel all together but this time due to my bestie’s official work he couldn’t travel with this. So when I saw the Laddu I just remember what he told, “Even a kg won’t be enough for me”. My hubby purchased a kg of Bhoondi Laddu and as usual kids started their purchase towards other sweets (halwa’s and milk sweets) and also we had Dry Fruit Kahjur Chikki – a sugar free version for my hubby.

All their sweets keep on melting in the mouth, only after having the laddu I could understand that why he is not enough of a kg, because it is little chewy, little melty, moisty, correct level of sweet content, attractive color and pure ghee fragrant. In a word I would say a “HEAVENLY SNACK”.

Location of the shop: No.172, Anna Salai, Mount Road, Express Estate, Thousand Lights Anna Salai, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600002. LandMark: Opposite to Spencer.
