Food Review – PARADISE (World Famous Biryani)

Standard

The word “Biryani” reminds me Hyderabad Cuisine, I am a great fan of Hyderabadi Biryani not only their non-veg but also the vegetarian biryani. When Hyderabadi Biryani comes to existence what would one remember, absolutely Paradise Biryani.

We had our 18th FBAB foodie meetup at Paradise, new BEL circle, Bangalore. It was held up by 17th (last Sunday), for lunch by 1:00 P.M till 4:00 P.M. This time my hubby also got an invite through FBAB and I was very happy to enjoy with him. Also I have to mention that my hubby is a Biryani Maniac, Biryani Lover and so on. We were waiting in the reception for our fellow foodies to join us.

About Paradise Biryani: Paradise a legend since 1953. Paradise Biryani is a world famous Biryani, they started their origin from a canteen and café in a theatre – “PARADISE” in secunderabad in the year 1953. Starting from 100 seater restaurant now extended as multiple restaurants on different floors. They started their take away by 2009 and later expanded their restaraunts all over secunderabad and Hyderabad. Now also they have 3 – 4 branches in Bangalore. Wish them all the best and spread all over the world.

Also we had small chat with their corporate Chef. Vijay Anand Bakshi about their restaraunts in Bangalore (Indira Nagar and Fraser Town). He also told that their restaurant in Frazer town serves breakfast (You get Paya), and got plans to serve breakfast in this (new BEL road) branch too. When I asked him about the secret ingredients in their Biryani, he told they never use any secret ingredient either have any secret style of preparing. But I think there must be something fissy – as it taste very delicious and stands unique when compared with all the other biryanis.

Ambiance: The place was too good with wonderful and attractive paintings, also we could find the pictures of celebrities here and there over the restaurant. They too got the clicks of their first restaurant, Charminar and few more places of Hyderabad. The restaurant was spacious, with good air circulation. As a mom I would say that kids would enjoy the place. They had a separate place for take away section. Newly opened restaurant in Bangalore.

Location: The restaurant is located in the BEL Main road. Address: Paradise Food Court, Vacuum House No.1, New BEL Road, Chokkmaranahalli. Corporation Ward #100, Kasaba Hobli, Bangalore North Taluk – 560094. Valet Parking is available so no worries for car parking.

Service: The service was too good.

Food: Our food started with falooda – Falooda was yummy with perfect texture. Coming to starters, we got to have all the starters, fish, chicken, meat, prawns and paneer. Tandoori Fish was melting in the mouth, Chicken was juicy and soft. We were served with variety of starters ranging from both veg and non-veg – Veg Manchurian, Chili paneer, Paneer 65, Chilli Chicken, Apollo Fish, chili prawns. Also we had one another unique recipe – Tulsi chicken and Tulsi paneer, it taste yummy.

Coming to Biryani, everyone knows that it is top most Biryani in India, so I rate 5 for biryani. We were served with special supreme Chicken biryani, Mutton biryani and Vegetable biryani with salan and raita. The curries was also too delicious.

Coming to desserts, when I start typing the word dessert I start drooling, now imagine the taste of the dessert. Now comes Double ka Meetha and Qubani Ka Meetha with the perfect taste, texture and color. Then comes Gulab Jamun and Gajar Halwa, coming to Gulab Jamun I found it little hard but the Gajar Halwa was again a hit with the perfect taste, texture and color.

Price: Price was reasonable, I would recommend going again and again not only for their Biryani, also for starters and desserts (YUM).

Food Review – Zzungry, ROYAL KITCHENS OF INDIA

Standard

This was our 17th FBAB meetup with Zzungry, the meetup was something different from the usual, as we were invited around 11:00 A.M. I was wondering about the time, as every time the meet would be based on lunch or dinner, but this was a different time. The meetup was held at Chaipatty, Indira Nagar, Bangalore.

Coming to the meetup, this got in touch with few of the new foodies. This time I was in time for the meetup as Chaipatty was 15 mins drive from my place. We had a great chat with Mr. Subash Baliga, Mr. Sandeep Rana and Mr. Ashish Kalya, the founders of Zzungry. Also Mr. Subash Baliga shared out their experience right from the startup till delivery.

Zzungry – Take out Restaurant” as they call themselves, which gets Star quality food at your door steps. How many of us would or can dine at 5-Star hotels, may be countables, because in Star hotels we not only pay for the food served there, but also for the ambience and other luxury things like pool, lawns and so on.

Zzungry brings the Delicious and uniquely crafted 5-Star Indian Royal Food delivered to your home, which helps everyone to have a Royal Food without eating the pockets. And also depending on the quality and taste buds of the food, they do deliver only for 3 to 4 Kms radius.

Location: We were told that they are soon coming to few more localities and they usually keep on changing their menus on weekly basis, with unique dishes and so you can have varieties over there. . As of now they have delivering food around HSR Layout & Indira Nagar localities.

Packing: The food was very well packed but I felt little difficult to open.

Food: The food was very fresh, warm, aromatic, attractive and delicious, the right word I need to mention here is UNIQUE food. Also I would say that the food was not like or taste as a restaurant one, but was like the one we cook in our kitchen (home food).

I should mention the texture here, the first time I got to eat a (home delivered food) chicken getting melted in the mouth. The parathas was unique – ragi paratha stuffed with corn was good – UNIQUE. We were served with veg and non-veg boxes, as a non-vegetarian I preferred non-veg box. The box had a rice, a gravy, two parathas and a kebab.

Price: A Five Star Quality food at reasonable price. They also take corporate order, in advance.

I would highly recommend Zzungry. Order @ www.Zzungry.com and enjoy a Royal Food.

Food Review – District 6, Sheraton hotel, Bangalore

Standard

My first Foodie Meet with Food Bloggers Association Bangalore (FBAB), but this being 3rd FBAB meetup and I am happy that I could make it atleast this time. This meet was held up in District 6 – PUB BREWERY & KITCHEN, Sheraton Hotel, Bangalore, India.

First of all I would like to thank FBAB for your invite, the moment when I saw my name enrolled in the list I was very happy. I had a very good time with fellow foodies, delicious food and freshly brewed beer. I would say this would be one of most memorable day – the very first time of consuming a beer.

I got to see the brewing of beer recently in one of the cookery program, I was much interesting. But never imagine that I would get a chance to visit and collect details about beer brewing.

District 6 – They brew beer of their own with the assistance of GFB, Kasper Schulz who are over 350 year old beer House manufactures from Germany and Weyermann who source them the best ingredients form Germany. There are 6 variants of beer and the last two variants are not available on their menu –

  • The Liberator – Lager
    • Alcohol by Volume: 4.5%
  • The chief
    • Alchohol by volume: 4.6%
  • Dark Lord
    • Alchohol by volume: 4.5%
  • The Kapitan
    • Alcohol by volume: 6%
  • Smoking Konig
    • Alcohol by volume: 5.2%
  • Radler – who call it as sports drink
    • Large flavoured with lemon and alcohol by volume: 2.4%

Also we had few coolers – Watermelon cooler, Non-veg Tandoori Platter, Vegetarian Platter, Oriental Platter and platter with few veggies. All the platters are scrumptious and mouth-watering which makes you to fall in love with. I had watermelon cooler, tasted strawberry last but not to miss since it’s my first time, I tasted few sips of Radler which was flavored with lemon and loved it. They change the flavor as per the seasonal fruits.

Also we were demonstrated about the beer brewing

  • First they mix the malt with boiling water for almost 8 hrs
  • Secondly they mix all other ingredients and ferment for almost 8 hrs.
  • Thirdly they mix with the flavors.

Enjoyed a lot with our fellow foodies team, thanks to District 6 and FBAB for this meetup.
