Launch of Danone at Bangalore (The Healthy Swap with Danone)

Launch of Danone at Bangalore (The Healthy Swap with Danone)

Danone – World’s No. 1 Fresh Dairy Co started its activity in India by 2010. As a food company, they are always innovating to address the major food and health challenges. Also, they adapt themselves to the nutritional needs and cultures of each and every country where they operate.

Danone dairy has both fresh diary and UHT offerings, also they have launched range of flavored yoghurts and smoothies which best suits Indian customers. The fresh products include Dahi, Misti Doi and flavored yoghurts. The UHT includes UHT milk, buttermilk, lassi, cold coffee and smoothies.

And the latest addition to their products is Plain Greek Yoghurt and flavored yoghurt (Mango with fruit pieces, Strawberry with fruit pieces and Blueberry with Fruit pieces), which was launched few days back at Fava, Bangalore.

Recently being a food blogger, I came across many people looking forward to Greek Yoghurt – as it’s very good health with high protein and low-fat content. It was at the launch event, where Dietician Madhavi – explained about the Greek Yoghurt and its health benefits.

Greek Yoghurt is similar to Hung curd (thicken curd), but prepared from the double toned milk, which has less fat content and more protein content.

Greek yoghurt is being used as a replacement of milk, mayonnaise, chips and also our so called more calorie snack like samosa, chat… They can be consumed in anytime, may be as a smoothie along with fruits as breakfast, with salad, as a spread in bread, dip and along with fruits for lunch or snack time or dinner. A perfect and healthy replacement for snacks. Also because of the rich content of dietary fiber, they provide more satisfaction by consuming a small quantity which is good for diabetes.

Plain Greek yoghurt is best for diabetes as they don’t have any sugar content in them, whereas the flavored ones have little sugar content due to the flavor in them. This can be consumed as such or can be served with fruits, vegetables and so on.

Greek Yoghurt are packed very well, as they are distributed to the shops within 2 to 3 days of manufacture. Also, they have a specific expiry date, within which they should be consumed. Moreover, its required to store them in a refrigerator, to avoid it from spoiling. Also it priced INR 35/- for 80 gm pack which is more sufficient for an adult.

Chef Abhijit Saha, shared his fruitful experience with Danone and also demonstrated three food recipes with Danone Greek Yoghurt. Also, we had a chance to taste over the dishes tried out using Greek Yoghurt.

Due to more and more health issues, and now most of us concentrating on our diet, can take a shift to Danone Greek Yoghurt which helps to maintain our health and enjoy a happy life – #TheHealthySwap

The recipe was given to us along with the ingredients, kitchen utensils and so on. Chef Kunal Kapur, instructed us the way with tips and tricks on how to cook the recipe, also he demonstrated the way of cooking and why we cook like that. For example, why do we slit fish, along the skin side, to avoid it from shrinking.

The menu was curated by Chef Kunal kapur, it was a unique idea, sounds good and yeah it tasted delicious. Recipe – Seafood Modak with Moilee Sauce, tossed spinach and Kokum Foam, Andae ka Halwa, Lemon Basil curd. Seafood Modak sounds interesting and unique right, it’s stuffed with spicy prawn masala and the moilee sauce was prepared with prawn head. Due to lack of time, we couldn’t prepare Andae Ka Halwa, but got to taste the one prepared by chef, it was divine, melt in mouth. Stay tuned for recipe…

Launch of New Flavors of Maggi Masala, Bangalore

Launch of New Flavors of Maggi Masala, Bangalore

Got an invite for the new flavors launch of Maggi noodles at Bangalore, the event was around 5.30 p.m of Friday evening. Actually, I feel little lazy to travel nowadays because of Bangalore traffic and now with this Boiling Summer (In bangalore), I never ever like to move out of home until it 6.00 p.m. But really there should be something which makes us happy to forget all these move out and that was this MAGGI event. #masalasofIndia

Every one of us like Maggi, as no age time, no specific time to consume, anyone can prepare it to perfection and it takes just few minutes to prepare. Only thing I could remember about Maggi from my childhood till today was the advertisement – “MAGGI MAGGI MAGGI”.

Coming to the event, there were few food bloggers along with me for the event and Master Chef Zaheer Khan gave a demo of the newly launched 4 flavors of the Maggi Masala – Bengali Thaal, Super Chennai, Amristari Achari and Mumbaiya Chatak.

After the preparation, we were blind folded to match the noodles with their names and asked for our favorite flavor – What would be my favorite? None other than the Super Chennai Masala, a pakka tamil version with curry masala flavor, Amristari Achari – as the name achari it was little spicy and tangy, Mumbaiya Chatak – next to Super Chennai I like this Mumbaiya Chatak with the flavors of chat and then the Bengali Thaal.

After the blindfold round, now it’s time for our Master Chef Zakheer khan who prepared innovative recipes using these Maggi Masala – it was Teriyaki Chicken with Mumbaiya Chatak Masala, the boneless chicken pieces were marinated, fried. Meanwhile the noodles were prepared, and then topped with teriyaki chicken. Teriyaki Chicken noodles was excellent and when paired with Mumbaiya Chatak Masala it was divine.

Next was Jaal Muri with Bengali Thaal – Noodles was prepared with the masala, add topped with roasted peanuts, few pomegranate seeds and little sprouts. I like this to the core because of the crunchiness of the nuts, softness in the noodles and the taste of the pomegranate all together a deadly combo.

Next to the cooking session, we were divided to 2 groups, and was asked to prepare an innovative recipe with any of these Noodles. Our Team decided to prepared Mossaka with Mumbaiya Chatak which we named as Mumbaiya Mossaka Masala.

Preparation of Mumbaiya Mossaka Masala – Slice the aubergine to thin round slices, fry them until golden brown in oil. Meanwhile chop the capsicum, tomatoes and boil them until soft, drain the water and grind it to fine paste. Use the drained water to prepare the mumbaiya chatak masala noodles and keep it aside. Cook the ground masala for few mins or until the raw smell goes off. Meanwhile prepare white sauce with maida, salt and pepper powder. Take a baking tray, arrange the fried slices of aubergine, pour the white sauce, spread it well and then the red sauce, spread it well and then layer it with the noodles, again continue the same process and top it with grated cheese. Bake it over for 5 to 10 mins. Serve hot.
