Cheese Onion Sandwich Recipe / Cheese Onion Sandwich spread Recipe

Cheese Onion Sandwich was introduced to me while I was in U.K, I use to stock up this sandwich spread all the time in my refrigerator from TESCO and like to have it with brown bread or white bread during my tea time. Most of the time when we happen to travel, this would be my breakfast, recalling call my beautiful memories when I was in U.K.

Cheese Onion Sandwich spread can be prepared in required amount and can be refrigerated so that it stays fresh for 4 days. Apart from bread this spread can be served with chapathi and tortilla also.

Cheese Onion Sandwich spread has creamy and little tangy flavor, also the crunchiness of onions balances well with cheese. Red cheese also be induced, but since I don’t have red cheese I have skipped it. A perfect breakfast or a snack box recipe for kids. Let me share the recipe…

Ingredients:

  • Onion – 1 no
  • Cheese – 20 gms (grated)
  • Mayonnaise – 6 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp (optional)
  • Salt – ¼ tsp or for taste
  • Bread slices – 10 no’s

Preparation:

  • Peel and finely chop the onions to very small pieces.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, grated cheese, onion, black pepper powder, salt and mix it well.
  • Let it rest for 5 mins in refrigerator.
  • Spread it on the top the bread and over it with another bread slice.

Serve it. Goes out well with a cup of black tea or black coffee.

Note: Transfer the leftover spread to a air-tight box and refrigerate, as it stays fresh for 4 days.

Corn Cheese Bread Cups

As I have started preparing #afterschoolsnacks, wonder what to prepare today for snacks. Got to see a bread packet and some leftover corn kernels and cheese cubes in the refrigerator. Thought of preparing Bread cups and later it resulted in a bread bowl too. #afterschoolsnacks

When I started preparing this dish, felt little confusion whether it would work out, think may be of having migraine. But continued the process and the outcome was fantastic which made me very happy. These corn cheese bread cups disappeared in moments, my son liked it to the core. Feeding him is being a great challenge for me, what do a mother needs than this. #backtohomesnacks

It was delicious, resembled almost pizza but the taste and crunchiness of the bread made it stand away from pizza. Very simple, easy and less consumption healthy dish for kids. Let me share the recipe…

Ingredients:

  • Bread Slices – 12 nos
  • Corn kernels (boiled) – ½ cup
  • Onion – 1 no
  • Tomato – 1 no
  • Capsicum – ½ no
  • Mixed Italian herbs (oregano, chives, rosemary) – 1 tbsp
  • Cheese cubes – 5 nos
  • Tomato Sauce – 3 tbsp
  • Melted Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:

  • Trim the sides of the bread slices and keep it aside.
  • Peel and finely chop the onions and tomato. Deseed and finely chop the capsicum.
  • Grate the cheese cubes and keep it aside.
  • In a bowl, take the finely chopped onion, tomato, capsicum, sprinkle the Italian seasoning along with pepper powder, salt and mix them all together. Keep it aside.
  • Preheat the microwave to 180 degree C.
  • Grease a muffin tray, brush the bread slices with butter, and gently press the bread to the muffin mould.
  • Sprinkle little cheese to the bread, then spoon in the vegetable mix, pour in a tsp of tomato sauce and top it with grated cheese.
  • Continue the same with all the breads and bake them at 180 degree C for 2 to 3 mins.
  • Remove them gently and serve hot.
  • For Corn cheese bread bowl – Take a slice of bread and cut it in the center. Now sprinkle little grated cheese over a bread slice and place the center chopped bread slice over it.
  • Add in the vegetable mix, pour in a tsp of tomato sauce and top it with grated cheese.
  • Bake it for 2 to 3 mins at 180 degree C and serve hot.

Serve hot with coffee, tea or milk.

 

Baked Cheesy kheema (mutton) balls

I would love to make something based on cheese for this children’s day and already have made a chees garlic biscuits, but everyone in my home are fond of non-veg. So planned for another dish and decided to handle the mutton kheema and this resulted in this mutton kheema cheesy balls. This is first time in handling this cheese and mutton kheema combination. So was eagerly waiting infront of the oven, but the dish came out very well. It was big hit in my home and was over within minutes. Let us move on to the recipe…

Cheesy kheema balls

Ingredients:

  • Mutton kheema – ¼ kg
  • Cheese cubes – 5 nos (cut into small pieces)
  • Boiled potatoes – 2 nos(medium sized)
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Bread crumbs – ½ cup
  • Olive oil – 2 tsp

Preparation:

  • Grind the mutton kheema in a mixie. Mash the potatoes.
  • Transfer it to a bowl, put the mashed potatoes. Chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt. Mix them all together with your hands.
  • Now grease a tray with a tsp of oil.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree C.
  • Roll the mutton mixture to small balls and make small hole in the centre, keep the cheese pieces and again roll them to ball.
  • Roll them on bread crumbs for coating.
  • Place the balls in the greased baking tray and bake them for 10 mins or till the mutton kheema is cooked at 180 degree C.

Serve hot with Tomato sauce.
