Eggless Spooky Witches Finger recipe / Eggless Halloween Recipe / Eggless Whole Wheat cookie

Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat flour – 1 ½ cups
  • Sugar – ½ cup
  • Butter (room temperature) – ½ + 1 tbsp
  • Milk – 3 tbsp
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Almonds / Badam – 10 nos
  • Red food colour – ¼ tsp

Making of Eggless Spooky Witches Finger / Halloween video recipe –

Preparation:

  • Blanch the almonds and slice them into two equal halves.
  • Mix 2 tbsp of water in red food color and soak the sliced almonds / badam to it.
  • Make sure to use the butter only at room temperature.
  • In a wide mouth bowl, sieve the wheat flour along with baking powder and keep it aside.
  • Grind the sugar to a fine powder, add it to flour mixture.
  • Add the butter to the flour, crumble well with your fingers.
  • Pour milk little by little (1 tbsp at a time), and knead the flour to a dough.
  • Roll the kneaded dough in a cling film, refrigerate for 15 mins, later remove it and wait for 5 mins.
  • Dust the work area with flour, take a small portion of the dough, roll it length wise, give impression with fork, place a slice of almond/badam in one edge of the rolled dough. (looks like finger)
  • Meanwhile preheat microwave to 180-degree C, grease a tray, place the rolled fingers over the tray and bake them at 180-degree C for 5 mins or until they are baked.
  • Remove it the tray from the oven, let it rest for 10 mins, remove it to a plate and bring it to room temperature.

Store it in an air-tight container, once it reaches room temperature.

As of 2015 is about to over in few hours, here is the special from me – Butter Cookies. Not only the Butter Cookies, but it was prepared by my daughter and so introducing my “LITTLE CHEF” to the world.

Enjoy your New Year with this Butter Cookies which melts in mouth. It is a basic recipe with few ingredients, very simple, less time consuming but very delicious. My daughter baked out these cookies for us and was over in minutes. Let us move on to the recipe…

Butter Cookies

Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • All-purpose flour – 2 ¾ cups
  • Baking Soda – 1 ½ tsp
  • Butter – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1 ½ cups
  • Egg – 1 no
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tsp

Preparation:

  • Softened the butter or bring it to room temperature.
  • In a bowl, break the egg, add in the sugar and vanilla extract. Blend it well until it becomes fluffy and the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Sieve the flour and keep it aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree C. Grease the tray for baking.
  • Add in the flour little by little and fold it gently to the egg mixture.
  • Roll them into a large ball, divide it to small balls.
  • Dust the rolling platform with all-purpose flour and flatten the balls.
  • Cut them to your desired shape using cookie cutter. Gently place them over the greased tray by leaving plenty of space between each other.
  • Bake it for 5 mins at 180 degree or until it starts turning golden brown.
  • Bring it to room temperature and store it in an air-tight container.

Oats Banana Cookie

Recently I came across too many cookie recipes, but I want to try cookie with oats and this resulted in this Oats Banana Cookie.

Oats Banana cookie was crispy, crunchy and soft. My son and hubby loved this cookie a lot. A perfect cookie for munching, when you are on diet, as I have used powdered jiggery instead of sugar. Let us move on to the recipe…

Oats Banana Cookie

Oats Banana Cookie

Ingredients:

  • Oats – 3 cups
  • All-purpose flour – 1 cup
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp
  • Eggs – 2 nos
  • Butter – 1 cup
  • Ripe Banana – 3 nos
  • Cinnamon powder – 1 tsp
  • Chocolate chips (white) – ½ cup
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
  • Powdered jaggery – 1 cup (white sugar or brown sugar can also be used)

Preparation:

  • Grind the oats well to a fine powder.
  • In a bowl, take powdered oats, all-purpose flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Mix them well.
  • In another bowl, mash the bananas, take sugar, butter, vanilla extract and beat them well (no lumps should be formed).
  • Break in the eggs to the bowl, beat well until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add in the flour mixture little by little and beat them well so that no lumps are formed.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree C, spread the parchment paper or butter paper over the grill or baking tray and keep it aside.
  • Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the batter and fold them well along with the batter.
  • Spoon the batter on the parchment or butter paper and bake for 6 mins at 180 degree C.
  • After few mins, remove the cookie from the parchment paper, allow it to cool.

Serve with hot or chilled milk. Store it in an air-tight container so that it stays fresh for almost a week time.
