Marbled Rose Cookies – Valentines Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Maida / All-purpose flour – 2 cups
  • Butter – ½ cup
  • Egg – 1 no
  • Sugar – ½ cup
  • Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
  • Baking powder – ½ tsp
  • Rose food colour – few drops
  • Salt – ¼ tsp

Making of Marbled Rose Cookies –

Preparation:

  • Take a wide mouth bowl, crack the eggs, pour the vanilla essence, sugar, butter and beat it well, until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the salt, maida/all-purpose flour little by little and start folding them gently together with your hands.
  • Roll it to a ball, divide it to two equal portions, add rose food color to one portion and knead it well.
  • Now combine both the dough and knead it softly.
  • Dust the working platform with flour, flatten the dough and cut it to desired shape.
  • Meanwhile preheat the microwave to 180-degree C and bake it for about 8 mins at 180-degree C.
  • After baking, let it rest for 5 to 10 mins, and then gently remove it from the tray.

Store it in an air-tight container once it reaches the room temperature. Stays fresh for 2 weeks.

 

Oatmeal cookies

A soft oatmeal cookies creates a moist and flavorful raisin cookie that will make everyone’s day a little bit better. Also it’s nutritious, since it is packed with oats, dried fruit and chopped nuts.

Ingredients:

  • Oats – 2 cups
  • Brown sugar – ¾ cup
  • Egg – 1 no
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp
  • Salt – ¼ tsp
  • Cinnamon powder – ½ tsp
  • Raisins – ½ cup
  • Walnuts or Pecans – ½ cup

Preparation:

  • Toast the nuts: Place on a tray and keep in microwave high for 4 mins, till it turn light brown and fragant. Let it cool and chop them into pieces.
  • Sieve the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon powder. Whisk together.
  • In a bowl, beat butter and sugar with the electric mixer until it’s fluffy.
  • Add in the egg and brown sugar, beat well t combine.
  • Preheat oven to 180 degree C.
  • Add in the flour and oats. Mix well.
  • Add in the nuts and raisins. Stir well.
  • Roll the dough to small balls and take them in your palm, tap them like patties.
  • Keep them on the butter paper and bake them for 6 mins or until the edges turn light brown, still soft in centre.
  • Transfer them to a wire rack or plate to cool and store them in airtight container when it comes to room temperature.

Banana cookies

I have made these cookies for snack time. It goes out well with milk, coffee and tea. Especially my kids loved it a lot, it has a good flavor because of the banana in it and a wonderful taste.

Ingredients:

  • All purpose flour / Maida – 2 cups
  • Baking powder – 1 ½ tsp
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Baking soda – ¼ tsp
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Butter – ¾ cup
  • Eggs – 2 nos
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
  • Bananas – 1 cup(mashed)

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree C.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking powder all together.
  • Beat the butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Add in the mashed bananas to it.
  • Add the flour little by little, stir gently until its well folded.
  • Line up your tray with the butter paper.
  • Drop in the batter with the spoon and bake it for 10 mins at 180 degree C.

Serve at room temperature with milk or coffee or tea.Sprinkle powdered sugar on the top of the cookies.
