Happy 68th Indian Republic Day

Standard

Republic day is when the constitution of India had officially come into force on Jan 26th 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935).

Today it’s our 68th REPUBLIC DAY. It is one of the three national holidays in India. In schools, they celebrate Republic Day with flag hoist, dance, songs, speeches were each and every action would bring out the patriotism in everyone. Also, a chief guest would be invited to the school to hoist the flag and later chocolates or sweets would be distributed to all the kids. This was the feeling we get during our childhood days.

68th Republic Day, Indian republic day, Indian 68th Republic day, madraasi republic day, republic day wishes.

68th Republic Day

But now there are many things flashing around in my mind, let me share few over here. India stands unique and pride being a democratic country with the concept of Unity and Diversity. Recently I got to see the unity in diversity in front of my eyes, yes, in Tamil Nadu for Jallikattu, everyone united together no religion, no caste, no age bar … but only as students and then comes the public together and made revolution following the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi (non-violence). Their unity is what it made them achieve their needs, also I felt the meaning of the Unity in Diversity.

Moreover, there were lakhs and lakhs of people gathering in particular place across all the towns and cities of Tamil Nadu, including girls, women, kids, boys, men, old men and old women. They all stayed together the whole day and night for almost 7 days, where girls and women came out saying they had proper care, security – here I felt the women safety.

Being a mom, at times I used to worry whether my kids would get the same happiness, freedom, peace like us. Now I am happy and pretty sure that they would, and a great lesson from the youngsters and students who stood up for their culture and also saved it.

Let us all thank the students and youngsters who made us realize the uniqueness and pride of our India “UNITY IN DIVERSITY” and kept the race, religion, language, state, food away. Unite together as INDIAN, and save ourselves by helping needy and poor, stand against the anti-social in front of us. JAIHIND. PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN.

Wishing everyone a Happy Republic Day with Tricolor Kesari and a Sandwich.
