Chicken Salami Sandwich – Protein Rich Breakfast

Chicken Salomi is high in protein content; also it’s perfectly fits for breakfast, brunch or for tea-time. It suits best for weight-loss and for body building or for gym goers. Chicken Salomi is available in all the grocery shops at the cold storage section.

As PALEO-FRIENDLY, this chicken salami can be served in this same process but without bread. Let me share the recipe…

Chicken Salami Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • Chicken Salami – 6 nos
  • Bread Slices – 12 nos
  • Cucumber – 1 nos
  • Tomatoes – 2 nos
  • Onions – 2 nos
  • Mayonnaise – 4 tbsp
  • Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp.

Making of Chicken Salomi Sandwich –

Preparation:

  • Defreeze the chicken salami pieces.
  • Heat a tsp of oil in a pan; fry the chicken salami for a 2 to 3 mins on both sides. Remove from fire.
  • Peel and thinly slice the cucumber and onions to round shape and keep it aside.
  • Thinly slice the tomatoes to round shape and keep it aside.
  • Chop the sides of the bread and keep it aside.
  • Take the bread slices and rub mayonnaise over them, only on one side.
  • Place the onion pieces over the mayonnaise layer, then the tomato pieces.
  • Place the roasted chicken saloni and then place the cucumber pieces.
  • Sprinkle little pepper powder and salt if needed.
  • Cover it with another bread, rubbed with mayonnaise.

Serve at room temperature for breakfast or for brunch or for tea-time.

Tortilla

Tortilla, a name given by the Spaniards to the unleavened flat bread they found in Mexico round 16th century. The word “Tortilla” comes from the Spanish word “torta” which means round cake. Tortillas are an important part of the diet in South American countries. They are used in sandwich and so on.

But this was my first attempt towards tortilla and it came out well. Tortilla fillings include guacamole, grated cheese, tomato salsa, chopped raw onions and so on…

Once prepared you can store the rest in a zip bag or air-tight container in a refrigerator and use when by re-heating it whenever you need. So it will be an easy mode of food for busy people. Let us move on to the recipe…

Tortillas

Tortillas

Ingredients:

  • All Purpose Flour / Maida – 2 cups
  • Baking Powder – 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil – 5 tbsp

Preparation:

  • Sieve all purpose flour/maida, baking powder, salt together in a wide mouth bowl.
  • Pour in water little by little and knead the flour to a soft batter. Leave it for 15 mins.
  • Pour in the oil and again start kneading for about 5 mins and let it rest for an hour.
  • Roll it in a wet towel.
  • Divide the dough to small portions of balls and again rest it for half an hour. Cover with a wet cloth.
  • Now flatten the dough by dusting with all purpose flour/maida and start rolling to a flat bread.
  • Heat griddle and gently place the rolled bread, drizzle few drops of olive oil along the sides of the bread.
  • Wait for 5 mins, swap the side once you spot golden brown color on the bread.
  • Wait for 5 mins, till you spot out golden brown color on the bread.
  • Wrap it in a cotton towel, to bring it to room temperature.

Serve with any spread.

Note: Store it in an air-tight container or zip bag in refrigerator, and re-heat when you’re in need of it.

Soya Granules is one of the time consuming food, but very healthy and so it’s worth trying out. I have filled this sandwich with soya tikki and mashed potato dip. Soya Granules Sandwich

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  • Take out a bread slice, spread the mashed potato dip on one side of the bread.
  • Place a soya tikki over the spread.
  • Now spread mashed potato dip on another bread and club the sandwich.

Serve hot. I have accompanied with tomato ketchup.

Note: you can also substitute mayonnaise instead of mashed potato dip and replace soya tikki.
