Saraswati Puja and Ayudha Puja – 2016

Standard

Yesterday, we celebrated both Saraswathi Puja and Ayudha Puja at our home. Goddess Saraswathi, is the goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and learning and we worship her on this day by preparing offerings and puja. Ayudha Puja – the word Ayudha means Tools, people do puja for their tools, by keeping the tools infront of the goddess and take it the very next day early morning and perform their work.

Madraasi Vinayagar Chaturthi Celebrations – 2016

Vinayagar Chaturthi at our home

Vinayagar Chaturthi at our home

This time Vinayagar Chaturthi was most beautiful, as we celebrated with all our friends in apartment and then at home as usual. We had a good time, each one of us made a dish, all of us dreesed up in a traditional way, then had Pooja and then distributed the Prasad to everyone. The very first time I prepared 50 Modaks for Prasad, very happy.

In our home, we decorate Lord Ganesha, prepared dishes, offered Lord Ganesha and performed Pooja. Here are some of the clipping taken during Pooja –

Krishna Jayanthi / Janmastami / Gokulastami / How to draw Lord Krishna Feet

Standard

Tomorrow comes Krishna Jeyanthi and who don’t like Krishna, so everyone celebrates the festival. I would see many of the kids dressed up themselves as Lord Krishna and Radha. Also My daughter dressed up as “RADHA” for today’s dance festival at school.

The most important ritual in Krishna jeyanthi is drawing the feet of Lord Little Krishna. We draw Lord Krishna feet from the door steps towards the Pooja room, assuming that Lord Krishna would come home and accept the offering made for him.

This is my first time of drawing Lord Krishna feet with Rice flour (store bought). Check out the video, give a try tomorrow, and get the blessings of Lord Krishna.
