Wishing everyone a Happy Tamil New Year and let the new year bring all happiness, peace and healthy life to everyone.

I would say that there was few changes in me, after the blog towards the food. Usually for all Tamil Newyear I use to prepare a small vegetarian before blogging, but after blogging and so called food blogging, I started preparing a perfect meals which is served in Banana leaf.

But recently I started posting my lunch as LunchBox and now as of vacation started posting my meals as a small Thali. Not only me but the whole of my family liked it. I could hear you people wonder where I keep sharing my meals – It’s Instagram. You can connect me through Instagram @ ImMadraasi to enjoy the meals I share.

Taking it to Fiesta Friday #167 hosted by Angie@thenovicegarderner.

Tamil New Year Lunch is more special to me and this it has been more special and added more happiness, as I curated a Dessert – Mukkani Payasam / Tri-Fruits. When it comes to fruits, this mukkani has the most important place in Tamil Literature. “Mu” means “Three” and “Kani” means “Fruit” – Tri-Frui, Mangoes, Jack fruit and Bananas are called as Mukkani. For the recipe of Mukkani Payasam – CLICK HERE. Let me share my Tamil New Year meals here –

Tamil New Year also called as “Varusha Pirappu or Puthandu” among Tamil people all over the world. It is celebrated according to the Tamil calendar on the first day of Chithirai month. According to the Gregorian calendar it falls on 13th or 14 th April. Tamil People All over the world celebrate Varusha Pirappu in a big way by merrymaking and feasting.

As a food blogger, already I have posted few recipes for New Year (roundabout). But I have prepared a authentic and traditional food for our lunch. There are three main fruits for tamilians because these are the seasonal fruits during the Tamil New year time and called as “Mukkani (Three fruits)” – Maa (Mango), Pala (Jackfruit) and Vaalai (Banana).
